A total of 13 suspected cholera cases , majority women and children are admitted to Dabani hospital after they were rushed to the facility from Madibira B village in Busia town with signs of cholera.
A cholera isolation ward has already been put in place to handle the cases that have kept swelling since yesterday..
Dr. Christopher Kato, the in charge Dabani hospital confirmed they have 13 people admitted with severe diarrhea and vomiting and they fear it be cholera.
Dr. Kato says, some of the patients were brought to the hospital with severe state but were being managed on Av fluids and antibiotics at the isolation ward which has been established.
Dr Kato adds that the samples were taken to mbale for conformation testes.
Ali Lukiya a care taker to the patients says, a family head was the first to develop the cholera signs but later other family members developed similar signs.
Busia municipality where the patients have come from is currently experiencing a very poor sanitation condition.
