Gloria Suemiller, 65, an American national has been stung to death by wasps.
A resident of Oklahoma City, Suemiller was stung while tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Rubanda district on Thursday.
The incident occurred at Katonvi, Ruhija zone in Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Rubanda district.
Elly Maate said that Suemiller along with seven other tourists including her husband, White Gary Lynn, crossed Uganda from the capital Kigali on Wednesday evening, spending a night at Ruhija sector in Rubanda.
Maate said Suemiller was overpowered by the wasps after she failed to run. Maate says that Gary and other tour guides escaped unhurt.
The matter is being registered at Ruhija police post under reference SD 06/24/05/2018.
