The police photoshoot in Masaka resulted into murder of another person – MP, Mathias Mpuuga
Last evening, security officers on the night patrol in the Greater Masaka region took pictures of them patrolling the area and extremely ready to protect the masses against the Bijjambiya gang. However, their readiness didn’t stop the killers from executing their targets.
In the same night ( 1st, September 2021) , the Bijjambiya gang again killed another woman in less than 2km away from where the police had their photo shoot from.
The Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga, MP representing Nyendo Mukungwe in Masaka stated that, instead of protecting the Masses against the killers, the police instead decided to do a photo shoot along Masaka Road leaving the masses helpless which led to more deaths.
“Last evening, the police preferred to do a photo shoot along different Masaka City streets, showing off the motorcycles and new uniforms!! Meanwhile, less than 2km away, in Kimaanya B, the “Bijambiya gang” struck again, killing a woman,
the baby she was carrying on her back escaped with serious injuries, and is admitted at Masaka Hospital. Another woman had her arms cut off in Kyotera.”
Mpuuga posted on his official social media platforms.
In defence, Political Commissar Assan Kasingye stated that, they confirmed another death but it was due to domestic violence but not bijjambiya gang.
“The case of Kimanya & Mukungwe are being handled by our forensic team. The lady was hit by a bottle in her house, bled & died outside.”
