Over 50 buildings were ruined down and scores of people were left with severe injuries after a heavy rain with storm hitting two villages.
The affected villages were Nabitende and Ntayigirwa all found in at Ikumbya sub-county in Luuka district.
The rain started dwindling at around 5:00pm however it went beyond to rain heavily to the extent of ruining buildings, arks (obusolya) pulled of the houses, breaks fall over the people which left a multitude in vain with wounds and homeless.
The rain destroyed crops and also uprooted plantations which have caused suspicion and fear that the hunger which sacks them last year might make a recap.
Residents from these villages informs that the situation they face while rescuing lives of their friend was hard since the rain was still dropping and the wind also was still blowing.
The people rescued were admitted to different hospitals like Ikumbya health centre2, Namwendwa health center 4 and the surrounding clinic
Residents have appealed to their political leaders together with the government in abide to seek for help so as to get accommodation and food to curb hunger not to affect them like last year.
Chairperson LC1 Nabitende called Basuula David confirmed this problem and requested the area MP hon. Bagoole John together with chairman LC5 Alias Luwangula Becker to try to visit this place and also to help the victims.
