Police have stopped the meeting that had been organised by FDC leaders from all sub-counties in Jinja at Kakindu stadium. According to police these did not inform them about the meeting.
FDC leaders have warned police against sabotaging them wherever they organise party meetings. These have further threatened to sue police which they accuse of violating their freedom.
The meeting that ended in a scuffle, had been organised by the FDC chairman Jinja district who accuses Jinja East legislator Paul Mwiru of working with police to stop their plans.
“I can’t conflict with people below my level” Hon Mwiru said on phone. it should be remembered that Mwiru deserted FDC to join Muntu’s “New Formation“
During the scuffle, the RDC Jinja district Erick Sakwa was also called in to cool the situation but this instead just intensified the situation.
