One person died on Tuesday evening after a lorry truck he and another person were travelling in plunged into River Nile.
Eye witnesses say the accident happened about 8:30pm.
Police said the fuso truck Registration number UAS 994Y loaded with logs travelling from from Gulu side lost control and plunged into the River Nile at Karuma bridge.
Aswa regional police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick okema confirmed the incident saying they were investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
He said the driver managed to escape with minor injuries.
