Locals from Kamuli district have attributed the low voter registration turn up which started yesterday due to poor sensitization and mobilization by the independent electoral commission.
When reached at different places around the district by our reporter, locals said that they have no any information concerning LC I & II voter registration but are only seeing registration officers at different polling stations without knowing what is really transpiring.
Polling stations of Buduuli at Nabwigulu sub county,Kiwolera at Kamuli district agricultural offices and Saza road in Kamuli municipal town all had no registered no votes since morning.
When they started displaying and registering voters that are going to participate in the coming LC I & II elections which are slated to take place in the coming months between 1stand 11th July.
The Kamuli district registrar Gracious Araija during the phone contact by the press time confirmed that registration of voters had kicked off in the morning but he was not in position to give a comment since he had gone to the field to monitor and inspect the exercise.
