Busoga being the first cultural institution in Uganda to formulate a Child Safeguarding Policy, this has compelled the Kyabazinga to challenge stakeholders to join the campaign geared towards protecting children.
Witnessing the official launch of an MoU between Busoga Kingdom and Plan International at the Kingdom Headquarters on Thursday, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV asked all the people to join the cause.
“As we agree to work together as partners between Plan and the Kingdom, it’s of utmost importance to encourage all stakeholders to prioritize issues affecting children for tangible results to he realized”, the Kyabazinga emphasized tasking members of the audience to keep children in school being the safest place, fight gender based violence and guard against the current pandemic.
The 2nd Deputy Premier, Owek Noor Ahmed Osman noted that the Kingdom is focused on addressing issues affecting its population with tenable deliverables.
Team leader Ekigangu kya Busoga Owek. Dr. Joyce Abaliwano Mulebeke revealed that the MoU with Plan International is a big milestone as regards the affairs of the children in the Kingdom.
On their part, Plan International noted that working with the Kingdom has been a dream come true.
The function was attended by the speaker Busoga Lukiiko, Isabalangira, royal chiefs among others.
Prior to this MoU, the Kingdom has been working with World Vision Uganda
