His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope, IV, Isebantu Kyabazinga wa Busoga has commended Rotarians all over the world for their unconditional service to the community.
Presiding over the Annual Eastern Mega Fellowship at Civil Service College Jinja on Saturday, the Kyabazinga encouraged voluntarism to help mankind.
“Am pleased with what rotary does globally to help mankind in its totality. You’re involved in various causes with no strings attached. Your tagline of Service Above Self is a true manifestation of what you stand for”, the Kyabazinga said.
Flanked by the 2nd Deputy Kingdom Premier, Owek. Noor Ahmed Osman, the Kyabazinga committed the Kingdom’s support to all known Rotary causes.
“Rotary is among the most organized groups that we have in our midst. So as a Kingdom, we shall work with you as partners in development”, the King said echoing rotary’s well-structured organogram that goes up to the grassroots.
Owek. Osman emphasized the need to support humanity as a way of improving the people’s standard of living.
“We need to help our vulnerable members of society. As a Kingdom, we are committed to working with all focused partners in our bid to change people’s lives and the rotary family is a better ally in this regard”, he argued.
The chairman organizing committee of the Fellowship, Rotarian Patrick Rujumba thanked the Kyabazinga for associating with their fraternity and promised to ensure that they will work hand in hand with the Kingdom to render services to the people.
Owek. Waggwa Nsibirwa, who gave a vote of thanks acknowledged the importance of embedding culture in our activities. He also notified the attentive crowd that Busoga and Buganda Kingdoms enjoy a cordial relationship.
The fellowship that started on Friday and ends Sunday drew several clubs from all over the country and neighboring countries. CIPLA’s Rotarian Emmanuel Katongole was among the attendees
