Two witch doctors are under investigations on allegations of murder. The witchdoctors are alleged to have killed one Lekuru Sabina aged 38 last month.
The body of Lekuru was found lying in a sugar cane plantation in Busede Sub County, Jinja district. Lekuru’s body was exhumed and a post-mortem carried out at Jinja Referral Hospital indicated that she died as a result of strangulation. Her private parts were also damaged.
Last week, Lekuru’s sister, Viola Tabu, lodged a complaint against Paul Mutakatifu, a witchdoctor whom she claims was last seen with the deceased in a motor vehicle registration number UAQ 667R.
Police together with Ali Mboono of the anti-human sacrifice Uganda conducted a search at the homes of Mutakatifu and Martin Mulindwa, in Namasiga village, Busede Sub County.
However, Mulindwa was arrested but Mutakatifu fled.
Mulindwa is currently being detained at Kakira police station as he awaits prosecution in the courts of law.
Onesmus Mwesigwa, the Kiira region police commander, says that investigations into the case is ongoing.
