A mechanic at Osama motor garage along Oboja road in Jinja municipality is nursing injuries at Jinja hospital following alleged torture by the police
Saleh Ssejjabi says he was arrested on may 4,2018 after his boss accused him of ,losing his money about shs2million.
He was then taken to Kiira region police headquarters, where,he says he was kicked by a police officer demanding to know where the money was.
Ssajjabi’s mother,Rehema Nangobi,says she rushed her son to hospital when he developed complications and started passing blood from his penis
However ,the deputy police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango dismissed the allegations as baseless,saying the regional police headquarters is an open place.
Uganda police force has repeatedly been accused of torture and featured in various reports for torturing suspects to extract confessions.
Recently,some of the suspects picked up in connection to the death of former police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kaweesi,narrated horrifying stories how they were tortured at Nalufenya police facility to confess to the murder.
One of the suspects,Ibrahim Kissa Alias Colonel ibra,37 Kissa,said he was taken to Naguru police headquarters where he was beaten and became unconscious.
