President Yoweri Museveni has reaffirmed his support for religious freedoms, saying his government adopted a principled stand on the matter, to support all religious beliefs operating lawfully.
Museveni, in the company of Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, and Jinja west Mp Hon Moses Grace Balyeku, Museveni was Chief Guest at the anniversary celebrations for the World Mekaddishken Ministries in Jinja.
Museveni preached tolerance among different religious beliefs, saying it is wrong to judge faiths wrong, which he said is God’s responsibility.
Speaker Kadaga said the Ministry, which brings together a number of allied churches, has been yearning for the President’s visit.
Kadaga apprised Museveni of the Church’s entrepreneurial efforts, and that they are operating a Sacco to fight unemployment.
Museveni made a contribution of Shs100m to the Church, Shs20m being in cash and Shs80m in pledges.
Pastor Tom Ngobi, who heads the Church, thanked government for efforts to build infrastructure and maintain stability.
