The parliamentary committee on government assurances implementation were hosted yesterday by the Iganga district women member of parliament Alias Suubi Asinde Brenda A.K.A Mama Madhi with the motive of surveying the pledges and promises made by president Museveni in the past years.
The meeting was held at Iganga district headquarters were they shared a lot of Issues aimed at improving the service of the Iganga people.
The meeting involved 20 Parliamentary representatives of different constituencies in the country, RDC of Iganga Pluheria Muhindho, LC5 Kayemba Patrick, the current CAO and Parish chiefs In Iganga district.
Some of the things that caught much emphasis were the municipal roads, schools laboratories, renovation and construction of more hospitals in the district, ordinary people, different SACCOS and Cooperatives.
While speaking to the press, Hon.Suubi Asinde Brenda said that the major area of concern is Saza road which is making Iganga people always go on strikes, central market that leaks and the people it posses work under unhealthy condition, and Busoga university issues.
Also the LC5 Iganga Kayemba Patrick revealed that only 20% of the pledges have been fulfilled and the rest is still pending.
The chairperson parliamentary committee Hon. Fungaroo Kaps Hassan approved all and promised to work hand in hand with other parliamentarians to see that they raise these issues to the president.
