I am leading a peaceful demonstration against the Masaka killings – Stella Nyanzi.

A death toll of Greater Masaka residents murdered by ‘Bijambiya’ men is totaling to 27 in less than one month.
This is what has prompted a human rights activist Dr. Stella Nyanzi to organize a peaceful protest against the rampant murder cases.
“I am appalled at the increasing number of murders by hacking to death with machetes in Masaka district. I am much more appalled by the state of apathy and among Ugandans who are so scared of the brutal arm of the state that they can no longer exercise their constitutional right to peacefully demonstrate against the deaths.
And so, as a woman who hails from Masaka district, I have started organizing a peaceful demonstration against the unending murders of unarmed innocent civilians in Uganda. Who will join me in this peaceful protest? Who will resist this inefficiency of state security organisations?” Stella Nyanzi posted on her social media platforms.
Concerned MPs from the greater Masaka region held a meeting in the victimized families in Masaka and revealed that they are in touch with the security agencies and they (security) asked for some more time to come up with a clear plan to tackle the security crisis in the region.
