Police in Kamuli have fired several bullets in air to disperse the Togikwatako protestors who were were matching along Kamuli streets to protest the removal of age limit clause from the constitution.
During the scuffle, the Uganda young democrats UYD chairperson in Busoga region Moses Bigirwa and another person were arrested and detained at Kamuli Central police for fueling the protest.
Bigirwa started matching from the junction of Kamuli Adams road near Country club in Kamuli town via Kamuli taxi park and later Kamuli round about where he was rounded off and arrested by Kamuli police under the command of DPC Collins Kyasimire.
Before being taken to police custody, a resilient Bigirwa retaliated to police saying it is a constitutional right to hold such assemblies and vowed to continue with the same once he is released.
Busoga North police spokes person Michael Kasadha confirmed the arrest of the arrest of the two DP diehards saying they are waiting to be taken to court and answer charges of having unlawful assemblies.
