Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze was sent-off in an official state burial which was accompanied with a 21 gun salute at Bugembe Cathedral in Jinja District yesterday.
The chief mourner, Ms Kadaga said Bamwoze was a self-made man who was committed to the development of rural communities.
The burial prayers at Bugembe Stadium were presided over by the Archbishop of Church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali, who said that Bamwoze was among the few church leaders who could speak out for the flock and meant them.
He said it was not a coincidence that he passed on during the Janani Luwum week because he was with him when he was martyred.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
