Over years, singer Ronald Mayinja was one of the few openly known artistes who opposed to the ruling party, due to the fact that the singer was not holding any political position, he used to pass his messages through his politically motivated songs which gained air plays on most of the media houses.
The singer was indeed grouped among the few prominent persons who used to fight for the oppressed. Mayinja produced multiple hit songs that openly attacked the ruling Party to the extent that he was put behind the bars on several occasions.Among the songs include, Africa, Bizzeemu, Tuli ku bunkenke and many others.
The coming of Bobi Wine into Uganda’s political arena catalysed more people from the Art industry Mayinja inclusive, and the population expected a lot from him due to the fact that he had already sided with the opposition from time back and was well known as “Tuli kubunkenke”
According to our research, Ronald Mayinja was 90% in favour of any political position of his interest.It’s on record, at the eve of 2020 political run, Mayinja had already sided with Bobi Wine , the president of the opposition leading political party called NUP and People Power Movement. .
Infact,Ugandans who were longing for change interpreted this as a golden opportunity to take over the power of the Nation.
Against the will of the rest, mostly the opposition , Ronald Mayinja hit the recording studio and released a song in praise of the Ruling Party most especially the President whom he used to condemn in his previous songs. The internet, the media Houses reacted with mixed feelings and thus most of them concluded that it was because of money.
While appearing on our morning show, Gangamuka, Ronald Mayinja revealed that he has been with both Bobi Wine and President Museveni and thus he got it that there is no difference between President Museveni and Bobi Wine.
“These people you are seeing are the same and never even think of dying for any of them. I have been with them and what am telling you is out of experience”
