With just hours to the start of the 2019/2020 StarTimes Uganda Premier League opener between Kyetume FC and SC Villa, the game is in suspense.
Football-256 has learned that SC Villa have only three licensed players while Kyetume couldn’t only complete the registration of 10 on the Transfer Matching System (TMS).
Efforts to reach the FUFA Competitions Director Aisha Nalule and the Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainamani weren’t successful as they didn’t pick our phone calls.
Villa and Kyetume are not the only ones struggling to have players licensed through TMS, but other CEOs and TMS managers have also found it hard to adapt to the online registration of players.
The biggest challenges teams are facing is the failure to secure release letters of players from their former clubs but also some players require International Transfer certificates to be cleared but they are yet to come through.
This is a developing story.
