Jinja residents to get more clean water

The Government of Uganda through NWSC is implementing a Water Supply Stablisation Project for Jinja- Iganga towns.

The project involves laying 3.9km of bulk transmission mains from Masese water treatment plant to Jinja-Rubaga reservior.

Installation of 4 (no.4) 384,000litres per hour pumps to produce an additional of 6,000,000 litres of water per day.

This will boost the water production in Jinja from the current 26million litres of water being produced per day to 32million litres of water per day.

According to Jinja area General Manager Dr. Charles Okuonzi, the works when completed will improve water supply in Jinja City, Njeru, Kayunga road, Iganga, Mayuge, areas along kamuli road and the surrounding areas
