Taxi Rams into Kenyan Pilgrims, kills four and several injured

Accident at Bulanga, in Mayuge district has left 4 Kenyan pilgrims dead. Tax Reg No. UBD 860W rammed into the pilgrims who are on their way to Namugongo leaving 2 dead on spot while 2 others died from the hospital. 4 others are still nursing wounds in Jinja hospital.

The Taxi that caused the accident

The victims were identified as Joselyn Wanjala and Sarah Ajambo who died on spot, while Pelivin Malinde and Geofrey Ogaga were pronounced dead on arrival at Nakavule Hospital Iganga.

The officer-in-charge of traffic at Magamaga Police Station, Ms Beatrice Apiny, said all the deceased were pilgrims from Bungoma North District in Kenya.

The group, of about 100 pilgrims, started walking from Lakiri Catholic Parish in Bungoma Diocese on May 15.

Those seeking treatment at Iganga Hospital are John Okoth, Joseph Lusenyu, Kelvin Akira and Gladesi Eduti.
